1. Are my goods insured for the journey?

All items carried by our vehicles are insured up to £25.000. Further insurance can be purchased.

2. How do I get a quote for removals?

The easiest way is to call us and chat to one of Avenue Removals office staff or another option is to simply fill the ‘’ Quotation ‘’ form from our Website, and we will get in touch with you just as soon as possible.

3. Can I leave my chest of drawers full?

Clothing may be left in the drawers. Our team may remove the drawers in order to take extra weight off the item while carrying it onto our vehicles, we will then put them back where they belong.

4. What time will the removal team arrive?

Our Team leaves our base at 08:00am and arrival time is weather and traffic dependent. We occasionally start at 06:00am when the new property is far away.

5. What size vehicles do you use?

We can arrange various vehicles, from vans, lutons to lorries. All depends on the access to and from your property.

6. Is it my responsibility to arrange parking for the moving day?

Yes, it is the customer’s responsibility to make sure that there is enough parking space for the booked vehicles outside the properties. If the parking is restricted or requires a permit, you may have to contact your local council.

7. Are the removal men fully trained and experienced to pack and move my possessions?

Absolutely! All of Avenue Removals staff is fully trained, phisicaly fit and work within H&S rules.

8. Do you do storage?

Our self storage depot of choice is based in West Molesey, however we can organize storage at your preferred location.

9. Who does value my goods for insurance purposes?

It is your responsibility to estimate the value of your goods. The value advised to insurers must be enough to replace your goods as new.

10. Can you dismantle my beds or other furniture?

We can dismantle and reassemble the furniture for you.

11. How long have you been in business?

Avenue Removals have been operating for just under 40 years now.

12. How much does it cost to move?

The cost of your move will depend on a number of factors. We tailor each move to your need assuring you are not paying for unnecessary services, vehicles and staff. The cost is also calculated based on access to both properties and the overall distance.

13. What do I need to do before my goods go into storage?

You must complete full inventory of everything that will be stored in storage including their replacement values. Items valued over £500 must be listed separately.

 

14. What vehicle will arrive to do my move?

Size of the vehicle is determined during home survey. It is based on your home content, distance and access to your current and new property. Vehicles we use vary from long-wheel base vans, luton vans to 7,5t lorry as well us road trains where required.

15. Do you charge more to move on the weekend?

We can operate 7 days a week if required, however weekend jobs often are charged at higher rates compared to the weekdays depending on circumstances.

16. Can I do my own packing?

Absolutely! Please ensure the boxes are a double walled, stackable boxes to minimize chance of your goods getting damaged. We do not take responsibility for the goods packed by yourself, however we offer different packing options to assist you if packing yourself becomes too much. You can purchase boxes directly from us and our surveyor can guide you on quantities and type of packing materials you will require.
